Andrew Lopez of Out There Productions first approached Scott about this event in mid 2003 as OTP were tendering to secure the event as the Ceremonies producers. They were awarded the events and inturn, contracted Scott for the role of Ceremonies Audio Director. The 2005 Deaflympics opened in Melbourne’s Olympic Park on Wednesday January 5, 2005 and closed on Sunday January 16, 2005. The role of Audio Director for this event presented some particularly interesting and complex challenges which was identified early on by Mr Lopez. The event was produced on a very tight budget and an optimistic timeframe. The ceremonies were a huge success being described as the best Deaflympic ceremonies ever. |
